Unilabs Academy: Reimagining higher medical education for a healthier tomorrow
For over a decade we have extended our medical training and expertise to the wider industry via world-class training programmes. In 2024 alone, more than 7,000 external healthcare professionals tapped into the knowledge, mentorship, and experience of these educational resources. This year, we are taking our offerings to the next level by merging our educational platforms, including our Telemedicine Clinic (TMC) Academy, into one unified entity, now known as Unilabs Academy.
This move underscores our commitment to continuously develop both our medical employees, and the healthcare professionals we serve.
Henrik Agrell, General Manager of TMC, says "When we launched the TMC Academy 10 years ago, our objective was to provide radiologists worldwide with access to high-quality, hands-on training. Today, over 60,000 continued medical education (CME) credits have been awarded. I'm pleased to see us now taking the next step forward,"
Broadening access to advanced medical education
Head of Unilabs Academy, Ricard Robledo, says Unilabs is highly driven to broaden access to advanced medical education. “When we shifted to online learning options several years ago, we removed geographical barriers, ensuring greater access to our curriculum. Unilabs Academy regularly offers free webinars that are led by industry experts to further democratise learning and access to high-quality education materials.”
The Academy’s comprehensive programmes are designed to enhance both practical skills and theoretical knowledge. Unique tools, like Unilabs’ radiologist simulator, provide hands-on, practical training in a controlled environment to simulate real-world scenarios. Expert mentors lead these programmes, ensuring relevant and high-quality education.
Delivering exceptional patient care
Developed by people who know the value of every conversation, every decision, and every moment of care, Unilabs Academy strengthens skills, builds confidence, and elevates the standard of care across the sector.
Unilabs’ Head of Medical Thomas Lindahl says the number of graduating radiology fellowships has doubled from 2023 to 2024. “We hope that by providing continuous access to advanced training, Unilabs is not only enhancing the skills of its own specialists, but is also contributing to the broader medical community's ability to deliver exceptional patient care.”
UK Radiologist, Dr Yasrab, describes Unilabs Academy’s Neuroradiology Pearls & Pitfalls fellowship as exceptional. "I have attended various neuro spine fellowships, but this course was by far the best investment I have made. The depth of knowledge and practical skills I gained are unparalleled. I highly recommend this fellowship to any general radiologist with an interest in neuroradiology.”
New name, new experience, same world-class expertise
The newly branded Unilabs Academy provides tuition in Radiology as well as Biomarkers-driven medical education for healthcare organisations and pharmaceutical companies through CME courses and programmes being submitted for accreditation by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME).
Training is offered in a range of user-friendly formats, including onsite and online fellowship courses, e-learning modules delivered through a best-in-class diagnostic simulator, and bite-sized webinars.
