PRESS RELEASE: Unilabs Appoints Jos Lamers as Executive Chairman; Michiel Boehmer Becomes President & COO
Geneva, 15 October 2019: Unilabs, the leading European diagnostic services provider, has appointed Jos Lamers, currently Unilabs CEO, as Executive Chairman, where he will be responsible for the company’s long-term strategy. Michiel Boehmer, currently Regional Director South, will assume the new role of President & COO.
“With the company in excellent shape, and in line with my long-term plans for a different work-life balance, I am now ready to gradually scale back my involvement in the day-to-day management of Unilabs,” said Lamers. “I will remain closely involved in setting the company’s direction, as the Unilabs growth story continues.”
With Boehmer running the company’s daily operations, the Unilabs Management Team (UMT) will report to him.
Michiel’s current responsibilities will be shared between Nicolas Ploquin and Luis Menezes. Nicolas, currently CEO of France, will be in charge of part of Region South as Regional Director France, Spain, and Benelux. Luis, currently CEO of Unilabs Portugal, will take on the new role of Regional Director Portugal, Latin America & the Middle East. They will both join the Unilabs Management Team.
Christian Rebhan, currently our Chief Medical Officer & Head of Customer Excellence, will take over responsibility for the important Telemedicine Clinic unit from Michiel. He will also take over the Operations team from Jacques Herber, who has decided to leave the company.
Meanwhile Martin Schlatter will become Unilabs Chief Commercial Officer, in addition to his current role as Regional Director Centre.
