Unilabs appoints new CEO and Chair of the Board of Directors

Geneva, 18 April 2023: Unilabs, one of Europe’s most prominent diagnostics businesses that offers 360-degree integrated services across laboratory, imaging, and pathology; is reshaping its management team. Since being acquired by A.P. Moller Holding, Unilabs has been focusing on appointing the right team to unlock the growth potential.

The new CEO is not new to Unilabs, as he has held the position of Chair of the Board of Directors since July 2022. He brings a blend of strategic and operational insight from a career of more than three decades in commercial and operational roles, his latest role being that of Chief Supply Chain Officer at Unilever.

With Marc Engel stepping into the CEO role, Gilbert Achermann - currently member of the Unilabs Board of Directors - will be taking on the role of Chair of the Board of Directors. Gilbert Achermann brings considerable med-tech, healthcare and industrial experience, from a wide range of executive and board engagements including as the CEO and Chairman of the Straumann Group.

Today Unilabs is present in 15 countries, working closely together with both private and public health care providers as well as with direct customers to help provide the right treatment decisions and the highest levels of patient care, therefore transforming lives.

The appointment of a new CEO follows a series of organizational changes within Unilabs. In the role of CEO, Marc Engel succeeds Michiel Boehmer.
